Book review (glide below)
This book provides a real insight into the decision making process that one family took in an attempt to live in a more environmentally friendly way. It is very honest in that it includes their reasoning for not adopting certain green options, and their thoughts about what would have to change for them to be in a position to adopt them in the future.
Written in a diary format with Richard Hallows being described as an eco-virgin by one of the reviewers, this book is frequently amusing, and quite a few times made me laugh out loud. It certainly struck a chord with me, as I could remember thinking the same things myself when first considering some of these issues.

This book is a well written account of a year in the life of the author and his small family. Really having very little idea at the start of what to expect, he and his partner invite 3 experts in different fields to their home to undertake an ethical auit. The three offer (sometimes different) opinions about the family’s lifestyle, including shopping, holidays, bank accounts, nappies. In all cases they are able to make suggestions about what would be ethical improvements to existing arrangements. This book details some of the experts’ thoughts and suggested improvements.
This book provides a useful introduction, with many parallels to ordinary peoples’ lives.
